Valentine’s Day Freebie

February 13th, 2009

I wonder how many copies of Let’s Get It On by Marvin Gaye fly off the shelves during Valentine’s Day each year?

The song was originally released in 1973 and the digital version was released in 2003 by Motown. This was one of Marvin Gaye’s biggest hits and is still ***super hot*** today.

The folks over at Amazon know just how popular this diddy is, and as such have released a helluva freebie for Valentine’s Day. A free download of Let’s Get It On for your iPod or other MP3 player. The free download is only good Friday and Saturday. After that it goes back to its regular price.

The freebie is a full length cut, not a 30 second sound bite. You get all 4 minutes and 51 seconds of the song.

Be sure to tell your friends about this one. Happy V-Day!

What’s The Deal With Natural Memory Foam Mattresses?

June 5th, 2008

What is the deal with natural memory foam mattresses? What are they made of, how do they work, and what is the difference between a traditional memory foam mattress, and a natural memory foam one?

These are the questions i had, for this article. So let’s take a look and see. I am going to get my research from a company called Essentia, as they seem to be everywhere and they state they are the only North American manufacturers of natural memory foam mattresses.

According to Essentia, most memory foam mattresses are petroleum based. (Let’s all together say, “We use oil for EVERYTHING”) If you are looking mostly for comfort and support, as opposed to the eco friendliness of a mattress, then any kind of memory foam mattress is still your best bet.

If you are looking mostly for the health properties (and eco benefits) from your bedding, then mattresses made out of a water-based foam is what you want. These types of foam mattresses are based from water, essential oils, and plant extracts. Heck, maybe they are edible, too.

One thing about memory foam mattresses is that they are priced higher than traditional mattresses (as is most green stuff) for the same reasons: the manufacturing process is different, the manufacturing location may be US based, and most importantly MASS DEMAND is not there yet.

What is your opinion on natural memory foam mattresses? And other memory foam bedding? Weigh in below in the comments section. Thanxs!
