Vegan Ellen Degeneres Becomes Next Americal Idol Judge, Replaces Paula

Wow! This is a surprise to me. I just read that vegan Ellen Degeneres has been announced the next American Idol judge, replacing Paula Abdul.

It seems her recent appearance on America’s Got Talent gave her judge fever. Well apparently she’s a HUGE fan of the popular music show and got the gig from Simon Fuller. From what I’ve read online, Ellen got a massive 5 year deal. That’s huge!!!

“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on AMERICAN IDOL,” said DeGeneres. ”I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”

She’s no Paula Abdul. I will miss Paula because who can fight better with Simon than Paula. And that silly banter makes me laugh. Sorry Ellen I like you and you’re super funny at times, but Paula will be missed. And as for Cara, I’m really not sure what she’s still doing there. Not to be mean or snarky, but she brings nothing to the table. Sorry Cara!

10 Fun Facts About Mimi Kirk, PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Over 50

Yesterday I wrote about how Mimi Kirk, (the Ramona, Cali woman) won the annual sexiest over 50 contest by PETA.

Today I want to let you in on a few little known but interesting fun facts about the sexy mystery lady over 70. Read on for more on Mimi.

1. Her birthday is next month, yep she turns 71. Wanna get her a gift? Bookmark September 23rd on your calendar.

2. She eats a mostly “raw foods” diet, as it helps her with keeping arthritis at bay.

3. She has owned and sold several spa and health food companies, one as early as last year.

4. She has four kids and seven grand kids.

5. Mimi has beautiful long blonde hair.

6. She has an account on and is quite popular with Facebook, and coincidentally it was via this social media site that she won the coveted PETA title. As she relied and called upon her fans to vote her up.

7. She’s a Democart. I mean democrat. Woohoo!!!

8. She’s a big fan of farmers’ markets. And practices qui-jong. (not sure what that is, but sounds interesting)

9. She’s a grad of Hollywood Senior High. (circa 1956)

10. She’s 70. C’mon is there anything MORE interesting than that? I don’t think so.

What Does A 70 Year Old Vegetarian Look Like?

In one word. Hot!!! Have you read the story of “the sexiest vegetarian over 50″ as voted on by PETA? The one where a seventy year old woman from Ramona won.

As for how it all happened, essentially Mimi was on Facebook when she read about the annual over 50 vegetarian PETA contest and decided to enter, she had no idea she would become so popular and that droves upon droves of fans from all over the world would vote for her. She ended up taking home first prize. Top honors.

You have to watch the video below and see for yourself how amazing Mimi Kirk looks. Mimi credits her longevity, good looks and zeal to her vegetarianism of 30 some years. She also is a big fan of raw foods.

There’s no denying she looks awesome, but there might be some debate over her age. She truly DOES NOT look a day past 45.
