Hello, I am a Senior in High School in Vancover, Washington. I am doing my senior project on how a vegetarian an/ or vegan lifestyle is better for mankind envioronmentally, biologically, and economically. In doing this, I am required to submit a personal interview. I was wondering if I could possibly ask you a few questions, via e-mail and submit your responses, properly sorted? If so, that would be a great help. Thank you so much!

  3. Hi Groovy Vegetarian!

I recently came across your blog, and not only do I love the PETA support but I also love all the vegan and vegetarian news. I am a vegetarian and I am always looking for more information and ways to support our community!

I will eat less. I will eat less. I will eat less. Sound familiar? No, it’s not you justifying your recent gym hiatus. It’s your New Year’s resolution, the same one you make every year, but fail to keep. In 2008, Kashi, the premiere natural food company, wants you to try something different – resolve to eat more! We’re serious. Eat more pizza. Eat more cookies. Eat more snacks. Just eat more!

Kashi creates foods which help you to achieve your best life through the power of positive nutrition. So when making choices about how to better yourself in 2008, Kashi wants you to consider all the good things you can eat instead of focusing on the bad things to avoid. Indulge in a delicious all-natural roasted garlic chicken pizza or satisfy your sweet tooth with an oatmeal dark chocolate cookie. Enjoy an afternoon snack break from work with fire roasted vegetable crackers or beat your sweet and salty craving with a chocolate pretzel bar.

These foods not only taste delicious, but are packed with nutritious ingredients such as seven whole grains, fiber, protein and Omega 3s so that you won’t have to feel guilty about giving into your cravings. Kashi foods are minimally processed and include all-natural goodness that you can see as well as taste.

If you are interested in receiving samples or speaking with a Kashi nutritionist about how you can achieve YOUR best life in 2008, please contact me at (removed by admin-XXX-XXX-XXXX) or consumer1@formulapr.com. For more information on Kashi, please visit the Web site at http://www.kashi.com.

I am looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi—-Hunter:

Hey, i love Kashi. My favorite is the chewy granola bars (honey almond flax) , yum! they are sooooooo good. The nuts and honey make a great combo. I get some at my local grocer every week.

Thanxs alot for stopping by, nice of you to visit.

    Happy Holidays!

Are you a Vegetarian? This is my first time here so I just would like to say Hi. I want to learn more about healthy living and I think your blog could become a great resource.

It would be great if you could share some information about yourself in this about me. I’d like to know more about bloggers as well as what their blog is about.

    Keep up the good posts.

    Hey, Binh:

Am i a vegetarian? Yes, that is why i started (Groovy Veg) to share how i feel about vegetarianism and to showcase what i like.

So you want to know more about me. Great, you can start by getting acquainted with the blog, i share of myself at every post.

But to answer your question, essentially i have been a vegetarian since March 2007 and have been meatless ever since. My reason for going veggie is ethics and animal rights. I dont believe in or want to support the animal factories and what goes on in them. For me, it is a personal stance, a thumbs way down to animal torture, cruelty, and suffering.

Some people like to remark that it wont matter, animals will still be killed and used for food. My response to that remark is, “IT DOES MATTER. As more and more people are exposed to vegetarianism and find out about the atrocities cows, chickens, and pigs go through every day, more and more people will go veggie, and every single vegetarian counts.

It comes down to what do you believe? How do you feel about slaughterhouses and animal rights? Does it matter to YOU that your (hamburger or steak or ribs) before it was made into food, lived and died in a horrid way for nothing more than your palate or for your convenience.

How does that make YOU feel? It is a very personal question, but one that can only be answered, if asked.

Hope this comment/response gives you abit of insight into who i am. Thanxs so much for dropping by Binh, do come again.

    Missy.

  7. Binh Nguyen says:

Thanks for the great respond Missy.

I’m not a vegetarian myself but I know many vegetarians. My mother is one. My close friend is. My girlfriend want to be.

I also feel that eating meat isn’t good. I believe what you said is true and all your questions are valid.

See you again in your posts.

    Regards,
    Binh Nguyen

  8. Hi Missy!

My husband and I are both vegetarian as well. I stumbled across your blog and thought you might be interested in a funky little cow-friendly side thing I do. I’m an artist on etsy.com. I make nifty, very affordable, vegan wallets out of just paper/origami. I thought you might be interested/want to take a look. Thanks for the blog and the added sense of humor (I thought the deer/hunter story was pretty funny too).

Very cute. Will check out your store. Thanxs for coming by, sorry for the long delay in response. But better later than never.

    Hi Missy,

I need to keep reading your blog every once in a while to help me eliminate meat from my diet…coming from Brazil, I used to be big on bbq and meat in general, but recently I’ve been able to have red meat only once a week, which is a progress for me. My goal is to eliminate it completely, but it’ll take some time since unfortunately, i do love the taste of red meat…but I’ll get there! Thanks for the blog.

    Hi Missy,

I love you blog and wanted to see if you might be interested in doing a little story on Beyond Skin Footwear – a wonderful vegan shoe line from the UK. I couldn’t pull up your email address but if you’d like, email me and I can send you a ton of great information!
    Best wishes,
    Sasha

  12. Missy says:

    Hey, Sasha:

Will click on over and have a look. I believe I have written on some of your cool vegan shoes on green blog Keetsa.

I’m pretty sure of it. But I will see what groovy stuff you have available now. Thank you!

    Cheers,
    Missy

    Hi Missy,

I recently came across your blog and I really enjoy reading it! I’m actually a pescatarian myself and am currently a sophomore in college majoring in Journalism & Art History. I’m writing an essay on the advent of new media and how it’s helped niche groups better get the word and gain a broader viewership. I wanted to know if you’d be willing to answer a few questions about your blog, the goals and aims behind it, and how using the internet has helped you better connect with other vegetarians. Please let me know if this is a possibility, I’d much appreciate it! Also, I couldn’t access your contact info so maybe you could provide me with an email address?

    Thanks so much,
    Nicole:)
