Hope you are having a good Saturday....A couple of quick questions....

1) Can you recommend any Veggie Mag.'s. I live in a ultra small town and can find no healthy magazines.

2) I have read that in order to help lower cholesteral I should be eating more Oat Bran. Again, cannot find exclusively oat bran cerals (can be put into a food processor and make flour) Do you know if whole grain oat cerals are the same, better, or worse than just plan oat bran? I have searched the net and cannot seem to find the answer to this questions. Any Ideas?

Hope you are having a healthy and happy day!

Congrats on losing 8 lbs. Nice!!! But unfortunately Edward (from Twilight) would not be interested in taking your blood, as he is a veggie vampire. Yep, it's true. (hehe)

Hope to see you again.

P.S. Did you add me on Twitter? Let me know, so i'll be sure to follow you back. I get daily requests and don't want to miss yours.

Thanks for the feed back. You have my mouth watering just thinking of your suggestions. After "sinning" by turning back to meat, I went meat crazy...not high cholestorol and overweight. Since I have been slowly getting back into the "health game"...I have lost 8 pounds! Yea! I am not scheduled for blood work until May, but I am looking forward (strange to be looking forward to getting blood drawn). Maybe I could talk Edward (Twilight) to do the horors....

Thank you for your quick response and encouragement! GO VEGGIE!!

Hi, Be:

Glad to hear your story, it is a good one. Well, not the unhealthy part, but the part about you being a BUSY librarian and wanting to know which simple and easy vegetarian foods to make for lunch. I feel you on not having an assistant, that has to stink. Probably due to cutbacks, right?

First let me say Twitter isn't necessarily a chat room per se, although i've been known to use it in that capacity. LoL. Everyone is limited to 140 characters, so it isn't the ideal avenue for lengthy chat. But we can chat here on the blog, or have quick short convo on Twitter.

Disclaimer:

I also feel the need to mention that i'm not a nutritionist, and as such, please take the info i give you with a grain of salt. I would def ask that you consult with your local MD as your particular situation might be one that can't eat certain foods, etc.

Having said all that, below are my tips on simple and easy vegetarian lunch food(s):

Try to incorporate fiber rich foods that fill you up, such as: bagels, oatmeal, wonder light wheat bread with peanut butter and honey, avocado pita sandwiches, bowl of rice and seasoned chick peas, fruits such as pears, nuts such as almonds, seeds such as sunflower seeds. And so much more...

Let me know if you followed me on Twitter, so i can find your ID? And we can chat more from there. Thanxs for such a fantastic question.

Cheers,
Missy.

I am new to twitter. would love to chat. I was a vegan eons ago, got off track but, because of health reasons, am trying to return. One of my main problems is lunch. I am a librarian with no assistant. Therefore, I am the Media Center from 7:45 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. As a result, I have to eat while checking out books, monitoring the internet, overseeing study halls, etc. Well you get the picture. I need simple, easy to handle foods. Any suggestions?

Thanks! Look forward to chatting.
