Here are some fun food costume ideas for Halloween. For convenience the costumes have been split into ideas for the solo partyer and then ideas for couple costumes.
For the solo Halloween enthusiast:
1. The Jolly Green Giant
While you may prefer organic offerings to the Jolly Giant, this will always be THE poster boy of veggies. Also makes a great family costume as you can dress the kid up as Giant Jr.
2. Blueberry Muffin
There’s no denying this costume’s appeal. The only hangup might be the price — it comes in at a cool $659. Maybe some homemade crafting is in order.
Available here, for an arm and a leg:
Blueberry Mascot
3. Vegetarian Sushi (eco friendly)
This costume is not available at any outlet, so you’ll have to craft it yourself. Use packaging peanuts for rice and felt or other materials for the roll. For a rough idea, check this kids’ version out.

4. Ramen Noodles
Perfect for starving college types (or starving writers). The costume will have to be homemade… so quality might be an issue depending on your talent and high-quality color-printing resources.

Here’s some creative Halloween food costumes for couples:
5. McDonald’s Fries
Greasy fast food and death — they just seem to go hand on hand. This costume works on many levels. The fries can either be handmade from red and yellow felt or be ordered online. The grim reaper can also be handmade or bought at major Halloween shops.
6. Mr. Potato Head
Many of us vegetarians love ‘taters. For a fun trip back down memory lane check this classic mens food costume out.
Tommy Tater (a/k/a Mr. Potato Head) Adult Costume
7. Gingerbread Man
With some quick alterations, you should be able to make a second one look woman-ish, and you’ll be set to impress.

Who says you have to go as food. Not us. No way.

Hilarious…. the sushi is the best easily!!
Hi, Forest »
How nice of you to visit. Glad to have you. My fave Halloween food costume from the list is the Ramen Noodles. That is a keeper!
Thanxs for the visit. See you again soon.
Missy.
I like Mr. Potato Head. It would be even better if you could velcro different eyes, mouths, etc. to the front of the costume. then you could switch them out throughout a Halloweeen party just like the real thing.

Haha. Yeah that would totally work. Im sure some people will get super duper creative with it. No doubt.
Thanxs for stopping by!
The little kid in the sushi is the best. The worst is probably the ramen noodles. I just don’t get who would actually wear something that big for Halloween.

The sushi kid seems to be everyone’s fave, and you’re right the ramen noodles costume is pretty darn big. (not to mention wacky)
Thanxs for coming by!
That sushi kid looks yummy! Uhm.. that came out the wrong way..
I was looking around for Halloween costumes when I happened across this blog. These are great ideas for costumes. I wouldn’t have even thought of these items. Makes me remember the time I dressed up as a sandwich. My costume of course was homemade out of posterboard. Can’t wait to see what comes out for 2009.
These vegetarian or food costumes are easy to make but also hilarious. I just love them.
Glad you like ‘em. Ole!
I was Mr. Potato Head when I was a kid. But it was before they came out with this one. My mom made it for me easily with just felt and velcro. I wore red clown shoes. it was perfect!
