Real Girls Eat Meat, I Dont Think So Jessica!

June 18th, 2008 by Missy Leave a reply »

Have you been following the story about how Jessica Simpson wore a “Real Girls Eat Meat” t shirt a few days ago, upon arriving at LAX with boy toy Tony Romo.

Real Girls DON'T Eat Meat

No doubt the t-shirt statement was a direct hit to Tony’s previous lady friend Carrie Underwood, who is a die hard vegetarian. PETA (people for the ethical treatment of animals) has put their two cents in the matter, blasting Jessica for wearing the anti-vegetarian tee.

Jessica Simpson’s meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken of the sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo ‘Wings’ came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food.

I think it is obvious Jessica Simpson wanted some media attention, and boy did she get it. She may or may not have known wearing the (now infamouse) tee would have caused such a media frenzy, but it did. My response is “Real Girls Eat Tofu”. Take that Jessica! (hehe)

    Hi Missy!

I don’t mean to be crass, and maybe my mind is just in the gutter, but my very first thought when I saw that picture was that meat=peen. And even though it is a disgusting thing to put on a shirt, it is less disgusting than eating meat. So – I am sticking with my original thinking on this one!

  2. diggdx says:

I thought the same thing….especially since I saw the ‘REAL GIRLS EAT MEAT’ t-shirt from Moe Wampum
    http://www.moewampum.com

  3. Missy says:

C’mon guys, get your mind off the gutter. The t-shirt was worn to impart an anti-vegetarian stance. Maybe she’s worn it previously and the other meaning came through. Who Knows?

But thats not what i meant. Yikes!

Keeping my theories slightly less racy, I did nonetheless wonder about the intentions behind this t-shirt. CafePress Shopkeepers took it a step further and created some rebuttal t’s… http://blog.cafepress.com/?p=67

I’m loving the “Real girls eat. Period.” Shirt.

    Thanxs for the visit.

    Hi, Jesse:
I hear ya. But she should have worn something a tad less obvious and jab at veggie lovers. Thats all.

    Missy.

A controversy is what a showbiz person needs for her idle career.

  9. Christine says:

She just needs her career back. What better way she would get some attention?

Real girls DO eat meat!  I can’t stand J.S. and I LOVE C.U., but I have to say I found this move quite clever for J.S.  If it was meant as a jab to Carrie – it was funny.  If it was just to make fun of vegetarians – good for her.  She just went up a notch in my book.  Sorry, but I think vegetarians are silly and foolish.

  12. Missy says:

    Sunny:
cool t shirt. thanxs for the link!

  13. Missy says:

@funfriend: Why do you think vegetarians are silly and foolish? Yes, it was a clever move on the part of JS, because it put her in the spotlight, for another 10 minutes.

Also who is to say, she knew that by wearing that t shirt she would be (news) again. Maybe she didn’t. It’s all in good fun, but it was still goofy of her to wear that particular tee.

  15. Missy says:

@rob: Sure we do. I allowed you to place that silly comment, didn’t i? Uh huh.

  16. lawlren says:

vegetarians have no sense of humor? I’m vegan and I am famous in my town for being absolutely HILARIOUS. I also laugh more than any one I know. Happy early death.

Hey, girl. Thanxs for telling it like it is. LoL. It was a silly tee and no one is paying it that much attention.

Thanxs for coming by, and S-Pressin yourself. Do come again.

  18. Lorrie says:

It’s sad that anyone cares what someone like Jessica Simpson thinks anyway. Doesn’t that say a lot about our society? Great post.

  19. Until I saw this article I’d actually forgotten who Jessica Simpson was. She was famous what 5,10, 20 years ago?

  20. Donna says:

I think this is just meant as something of an off-color joke.  This probably didn’t do much to boost her career.

  21. Alex says:

The comment of PETA is acutally very funny. I’m a supporter of PETA and the WWF (don’t know if you know it in America) and think we shouldn’t care much about t-shirts dumb girlie Jessica wears. For what is she famous again? Her Boobs? Well …

    Greets from Germany

  22. It really shouldn’t matter whats on the shirt, they need to get over it.

  23. jen the 12 year old Fall Out Boy obsessed girl says:

hahaha. For some reason, this whole thing makes me laugh. I’m not a vegetarian because I’m too much of a wimp to give up meat, but I’m a supporter of PETA. It was so obvious that it’s a jab against Underwood, but Jessie is to stupid to consider the conseguences. Ithink that it’s a hurtful shirt, but it’s also so incredibly…stupid and insecure and just plain funny.
Why is she so paranoid about Tony? seriously.
oh, and funfriend: making fun of vegetarians is GOOD? that’s something that you VALUE? and why is not eating meat FOOLISH? some people are such sick, sick idiots. stupid “funfriend”. you don’t seem that fun to me. you’re probably Simpson in disguise, trying to get some sympathy.
oh yeah. The PETA comment always makes me laugh.
FALL OUT BOY (especially pete!!!!!) FOREVER!!!!!!

  24. Hannah says:

funfriend: some life you’ve got- going onto vegetarian websites and bagging vego’s. said your 2 cents worth? you can go now!

  25. Missy says:

Thanxs for coming by and sticking up for us vegheads, Hannah. Cheers!

  26. Joe says:

You people who are afraid to eat meat make me laugh…..its good…..and good for you. God made animals for us to eat …. os eat em up! unless its a dog or something….there isnt anything wrong with it.

  27. Rachel says:

I couldn’t agree more that this shirt was worn in poor taste. Not only is it classless to disrespect someone’s person opinions, but for someone constantly in the spotlight it is much worse. Open-mindedness is key and for someone to shut down vegetarianism on the sole basis that ‘real woman eat meat’ is ridiculous. Jessica Simpson lost the little respect I still held for her by wearing this shirt and proving herself even more ignorant to real issues.

    -Rachel

  28. Perhaps she was referring to her boyfriend and not her diet?

  29. Casey says:

I think it’s really a great shirt. What I find offensive are all the anti-meat slogans on shirts. Sure I like lots of veggies, right beside a nice healthy portion of meat. What is really sick is that most of the peta people are freaking out if you kill a chicken and eat it but see nothing wrong with having an abortion…truly insane. If people want to be vegetarians, that’s fine, I’ll respect you as long as you respect my God given right to consume meat. Before everyone calls me an animal hater, it’s just not so. There is a difference between pets and food. Don’t eat your pets and don’t pet your food.

  30. Vegan says:

If Jessica Simpson was a vegan, then maybe she wouldn’t have to use that Proactiv Solution zit medication!

  31. Terrance says:

I was considering becomming Vegetarian or Vegan… but when I see you guys making pathetic jabs at people’s intellect and skin clarity at meat eaters just because she had a stupid shirt makes me not want to be associated with groups like you.

I have many Vegan Friends and when they told me they were vegan they had to quickly explain how they arent the judgemental type… I now see why and if I have to explain that i’m different from the rest of the group (implying them in a negative tone… that’s rightly deserved, apparantly) then I wouldnt’ want to even bother being part of that group.

  32. G.g says:

    I love meat.

  33. Missy says:

    Good for you, G.g. (not)

  34. Doe says:

Gees folks need to chill. She has a sense of humor. PETA stands for Pricks Euthanizing Tame Animals. There are better organizations to support for animal rights. Try donating to shelter in your local area that do not use their money to dump puppies in dumpsters, WTG PETA!
