Veggie Diner in Chicago Celebrates 25 Years!
As some of you know, my birthplace is Chicago, and “The Windy City” is home to many vegetarian restaurants. One such eatery is the Veggie Diner.

This week marks the 25th anniversary of this vegetarian pioneer in Chicago. For those that are familiar with the city, it is located on Halsted St, and has been a major staple of “Boys Town” for many years.
The Veggie Diner is totally retro (as its name implies) and although i’ve not visited recently, it is a must see if a vegetarian and headed to Chicago. If you’re not a veghead, it is still worth a visit. “Meat Free Since 1983″ is their motto, and the vegetarian restaurant has won numerous awards such as, “Favorite Vegetarian Restaurant” and “Best Vegetarian Restaurant”, as they so proudly display on the homepage of their website.
Please join me, in wishing the Veggie Diner a “Happy 25th” and many many more. If you do visit, i would love your photos. Please send them to me, via my contact form, along with a story of your visit.
Till Next Update,
Missy.

Thanks for visiting!

Very, very cool! I’ve only seen the inside of Chicago’s airport… I keep reading and hearing of all the great food! One day, I plan to make it to Taste of Chicago and stuff my face like a champ!
Thanks for sharing!

I get to Chicago every month and I’m always looking for new places to try (can never run out of them in Chicago!). I wish I could remember where I was recently, but I was with some friends in a restaurant in Chicago and they were talking about how that restaurant had a sister restaurant that was vegetarian, I think it might have been this one?
