Great stuff, but personally we just can’t get enough of that raw hemp milk we make with the Hemp Milk Maker. Even our baby likes it….
The first time I made it. I really stunk it up big time!
However after that it went well. I’ve found that homemade tofu actually has flavor I really don’t taste that in the store bought tofu. I don’t eat tofu often but I much prefer homemade tofu.
Until this, I had never had the urge to may my own Soymilk. I can’t say for sure that I do now (it seems like a lot of work) but if everyone says it tastes that much better… Hrmm…
The first time may be messy and awkward but once you have it down you can sleepwalk through it. I’ve seen different procedures and different quantities but I have had the best luck with 3 parts clean water to 1 part soaked beans. It will also be easier on your blender. I haven’t noticed a big difference in taste between skinned beans and unskinned beans so I don’t bother but if you get gassy it’s from the skins.  Be sure to stir constantly or it will boil over. It happens fast and grows exponentially but after you feel it coming on once you know what to pay attention for. I generally cook it after it hits a small rolling boil for about a half hour. The okara burns to the bottom of the pot if you don’t stir it. You really can’t walk away so work a crossword or something. For 1 cup of beans I usually end up with 1 1/2 quarts. 1/3 cup honey and a pinch of salt is nice. Maple syrup, too. It will get funky after day 3. For a yummy treat, make a mug of cocoa with the fresh hot milk.
