Michael Vick Enters Guilty Plea in Federal Dogfighting Charge
NFL Atlanta Falcons football player, Michael Vick, has officially entered a guilty plea on his dogfighting charge, which is a federal offense.
I have zero sympathy for Michael Vick, whether he himself executed dogs or whether the killings were performed by others, fact is they occured on his property. It makes no difference to me, does it to you? The only thing i am happy about with this case, is the press and awareness of dogfighting, that the Michael Vick trial is bringing forth to light. Hopefully stricter laws, and some new initiatives will take place because of this one incident.
What do you think?

Hi—Elizabeth: Jail time never accomplishes much. Rehab is the way to go here, and some animal sensitivity training. Prior to this incident, i had never heard of Vick, needless to say, i wasn’t a fan. But more so, after the dogfighting issue came to light.
Thanxs for dropping by. Come again.
I do volunteer work for the local Pit Bull rescue. I just cannot understand how people can treat these animals the way that they do. It isn’t simply dog fighting. Females are dumped, abandonned and neglected after raising their litters and their pups have been sold. Dogs that lose are killed, maimed, dumped and abandonned. Dogs that win often do not receive proper medical care and massive infections result from their wounds which can result in death. Seized dogs are destroyed as the liability of rehoming them is too great. Jail time is warranted in my opinion. How do you rehab someone who does not value life?????
[...] a jail background, and we couldnt think of a more fitting background for the ex-football player. Michael Vick was recently sentenced to 23 months in jail for his dog crimes, and is or was in all sorts of [...]

This case really brings to light that this doesn’t happen in back alleys as most of us think. This happens in any walk of life. I will never be able to figure out why. But I think to shows the true character of a person. What’s scary is Michael Vick is a role model to many young people. I think he needs jail time, but I think he should perform community service. He needs to talk to children about the murder and mutilation of these poor animals. Shame on him.
